The recent pandemic set the stage for another magnificent expression of meaning. Mr. Davari was inspired to pay tribute to the unshakeable fortitude that women from all corners of the world showed when facing the devastating consequences of this virus. This resulted in the creation of a sculpture that represents women achieving their highest form of being, and was thus named “She rises”. This sculpture captures the complexity and indomitable will of women in the 21st Century, where women must negotiate and succeed at a variety of roles–mother, wife, daughter, provider, nurturer, and more. Mr. Davari started working on this sculpture in October 2020, sharing the transformation and evolvement of this artwork on Instagram for others to experience. Made of 23,000 pieces of individual metal rods, each rod represents a flower stem, skillfully and patiently welded together...one piece at a time. While the front of the sculpture is smooth and shiny – capturing perfection, class, and elegance –the back portrays the other side of femininity – the raw, powerful, and protective aspects of being a woman. This sculpture encapsulates the female spirit in the face of adversity...in her moment of triumph over hardship...and will speak to every human’s soul.
